How long will it take to earn my degree?

The time it takes to complete your degree depends upon several factors, including the number of LAIU courses completed each term and credits accepted for transfer.  Students with no prior undergraduate credits who enroll as a full time student can expect to complete 121 credits typically in four years.  LAIU also offers an accelerated Bachelor's in Business degree that may be completed in three years.  Transfer students typically complete approximately 60 credits of upper division coursework at LAIU which typically takes two years to complete as a full time student.  Master's in Business Administration students enrolled as full time students can expect to complete their degree in 1 and a half to 2 years.

What are the admissions requirements for the Bachelor's in Business Administration?

LAIU requires a high school diploma or a GED equivalent. Students without a GED certificate will be required to pass the WBST examination which is a test for adults that evaluates job related verbal and math skills. Applicants must submit high school transcript or an official copy of their GED certificate. Students who first language is not English, may be required to enroll in ESL courses to prepare them to successfully complete university level courses in English.

What are the admissions requirements for the Master's in Business Administration?

LAIU requires a completed bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. The MBA program is open to any student, no matter their undergraduate degree major. Applicants must subnit official transcripts from the college/university where they earned their bachelor's degree.Q

When do I start my program?

After you accepted, you will be eligible to enroll in the next term. LAIU has fall, winter, spring and summer terms.

How can I get a catalog?

How long are LAIU terms?

LAIU terms are 10 weeks long, four terms a year.

How many credits / units are LAIU courses?

Most LAIU courses are three 93) credits / units.

Can I just take one class?

Yes, you're welcome to take a single course or series of courses via an Individial Course Program enrollment. The courses credits you earn may be applied toward a degree program at LAIU any time.

Does LAIU use learning teams in each class?

Specific learning teams are not assigned in LAIU degree programs. While you will complete some assignments as group projects, those groups will change with each class. This provides you with the opportunity to work with an international group of classmates, each bringing their unique backgrounds to your educational experience.

Does LAIU accept transfer credits?

Yes, we accept transfer credits from regionally and select nationally accredited institutions of higher learning. However, certain transfer credits may not be applicable to your degree program. The maximum allowable number of transfer credits for undergraduate courses and for graduate courses is 75% of degree program requirements.

Do you accept international students?

Yes. LAIU is designed to provide high quality undergraduate and graduate online degree programs to international students. LAIU offers ESL courses to assist international students in preparing students for university level coursework in English.

How do the classes work?

Each course is divided into weekly modules. Each week you will complete an online instruction unit, reading assignment, participate in the forum discussion, and either write a paper or work on an individual or group project. You must complete all assignments during the assigned week, before the class moves on to the next module.

How does the asynchronous forum work?

Each week, your class will include a series of discussion questions in an online forum. Unlike a scheduled online chat, the asynchronous design of LAIUcourses allows you to post your thoughts at a time convenient for you. You must participate during the week and comment on responses from your classmates. Your faculty member will guide the class discussion.

When do I have to be online for class?

You are required to log in and participate three to four days each week in class discussions, you can choose the days and times. If you fail to log on during any online class week, you will be counted as absent.

How do I order my transcripts from LAIU?

Former and current students can order transcripts by logging onto the LAU website and requesting unofficial or official transcripts from the Registrar.

What kind of education and experience do faculty members have?

LAIU faculty members hold master's or doctoral degrees in their academic specialties and have substantial professional experience in the fields they teach and are selected for their ability to deliver curriculum and communicate online..

What kind of computer do I need?

As one of our students, you will use a computer to complete assignments, download course materials and work on other tasks. With this in mind, you will be expected to have access to and use the hardware and software described below. Basic Requirements:
